DIV 35. Somehow AndyRay (only 8) convinced me that we should go on these organized hunts in Virginia. We had an amazing experience and made wonderful friends. Look forward to the next one.

DIV 17 at Beauragard was my first. I was using a Whites MXT Pro and after a day and a half I realized that I had to dig everything. What amazes the most is how you meet people who become your friends for life. Now each DIV is like a family reunion. Thank you John and Rose for giving us this great opportunity.

DIV 6. What a great time. Not only digging relics, but meeting a whole bunch of new people from all over.

DIV 19 at the ridge. I was originally about 140 down the alternates list, but patiently waited for my number to come up. I was using the old whites DFX and digging all the iron tones. I didn’t know if I’d find so much as a bullet, but I knew the opportunity was there for the find of a lifetime. I told my wife when I left that I was going to come back with a CS buckle and a gold coin. I was half right 11/11/11. These hunts and the people I met through DIV have literally changed my life, it’s a wonder where I would have ended up without them.

DIV 14 at Coles Hill was my first DIV and my first experience with doing a group hunt.
I’ll never forget that day, way up on top of Coles, picking up one artifact after the other.
Then the rain came and it was cold and messy. We called it a day and looked forward to the last two days.
Prior to the dig I had purchased a brand new Whites TDI. What a button machine that detector was.
Cool part was all the other diggers we met and still have friendships with.
I will never forget that first hunt, ever!

DIV 5, incredible hunt for sure, my first with DIV and learned a lot from that one…. used a White’s Spectrum LXT and still made finds… was blown away at the quality of finds that came out of the ground on that first hunt at Brandy Rock!

I did a couple of hunts with a VLF and it was a less than memorable relic hunting experience. It was the first trip to Ratrie that broke me. Bought a GPX immediately afterwards. That soil is a humbling experience for those who are hunting with a VLF machine.

My first DIV was 12. I was so excited to get out there and dig. I had a Whites DFX I think? Couldn’t find a bullet on top of the ground lol. I had no idea what I was in for. But MAN O MAN did I have a great time !

November 2004 at DIV 2 at Stoneman’s Switch, I was running across the field dodging diggers and huts and holes to show John and Rose my first plate ever….I was ecstatic! I will never forget that! Thank you for making it possible.
